On Monday, Royal Challengers Bangalore got defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets in the Eliminator of IPL 2021. Hence, the team had to exit from the competition. In this article, we look at what AB de Villiers‘ son had to say after RCB got eliminated from IPL 2021.
RCB got eliminated from IPL 2021
RCB had actually done well in IPL 2021. Players in all the departments were doing well in the campaign. Hence, there was genuine hope amongst the fans that there would be a trophy at the end of it all. However, as it has been since the inception of the competition, RCB struggled to do well in a crucial game and hence, had to bow out of this year’s campaign.
Choosing to bat first, RCB did well with a decent opening partnership. However, Sunil Narine’s magical spell meant RCB could only post an under-par score. Although they did keep the scoring rate of KKR in check, the Eoin Morgan-led franchise held their nerve and eventually won the game.
AB de Villiers’ son had some motivating words to say
Meanwhile, Danielle de Villiers posted on Instagram what her son had to say after RCB lost out the chance to win IPL 2021. He said that more than winning the game, it is about enjoying it and giving your best.
AB de Villiers replied to the post, saying, “I’ll rephrase… it’s not JUST about winning, but ALSO enjoying it and ALWAYS giving your best.” It is not clear if ABD will continue to play in the competition. If he does decide to play the next few seasons, RCB is likely to retain him. The retainment rules are not yet out but at least two retentions are likely to be given to the teams.
