Indian cricket team, which is captained by Hardik Pandya, defeated Ireland in the second T20I at The Village in Dublin on Tuesday by a very small margin of four runs. Ireland’s batters were hitting many boundaries and came very near to chasing down the total and to pull off a major upset, they needed 17 runs from the final over. Hardik Pandya, the captain of India, gave an explanation for why he gave Umran Malik, a young speedster, the duty of bowling the game’s final significant over.

Hardik Pandya said that, “I was trying to keep all the pressure out of my equation. I wanted to be in the present and back Umran”.  He also said that with the pace of Umran Malik it will be always tough to score 18 runs off 6 balls. He also praised Ireland batters saying they played some wonderful shots and thankfully our bowlers held their nerves to get us a win.

Hardik Pandya also talked about playing in Ireland and getting a lot of love from Indian supporters. Pandya expressed his gratitude to the crowd, stating that Dinesh Karthik and Sanju Samson were their favorite players as they received loud support.

Speaking of the match, India stole it from Ireland in the final over, winning the last-ball drama by four runs despite outstanding performances from skipper Andrew Balbirnie scored 60 runs, Paul Stirling scored 40 and Harry Tector scored 39.

For India Samson played some wonderful shots for his 77 and Deepak Hooda scored a magnificent 104 earlier on as India produced a total of 225/7. This gives India a 2-0 series victory. Ireland, though, will come away from the game with a lot of positives since they were competitive right up to the final ball and their batting gave India a real worry.
