“He will be one of the legends of cricket” – Harbhajan Singh opens up on inclusion of Babar Azam in Fab Four

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has had a stellar run for his country since making his debut in the year 2015. The right-handed batsman has played many match-winning innings for his country and has seen more than one brilliant innings with his bat. As a result, the debate about Babar being a part of the famous ‘Fab Four’ is getting hotter with each passing day.

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has now said that the name of the Pakistani captain should be included in the list of Fab For which includes some modern-day legends including Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steve Smith and Kane Williamson.

The above mentioned players have been the match winners for their respective countries and have been consistently scoring runs with the bat in all three formats.

Let us tell you that Pakistan captain Babar Azam averages over 45 in all three formats of the game and under his captaincy, Pakistan defeated their arch-rivals India in the World Cup for the first time, in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer and spin bowlers Harbhajan Singh has spoken big of Babar Azam.

During a conversation with Sportskeeda, Harbhajan Singh said stated that it is too early to say that Babar may be in Fab Four in the future, as he is a proper batsman and has a lots of confidence and great technique and added that he will become a legend of the game in the times to come.

“Babar definitely has the quality, he is a proper batsman with so much of confidence and technique. Going forward he will be one of the legends of cricket,” stated the veteran.

Harbhajan further added that even though it is very early to put him in any league like the Fab Four and first should let him play more cricket and score a lot of runs, let the team win as many matches as possible, then it would be fair to say something. He concluded saying that he is not less than anyone in terms of talent.

Babar has played 40 Tests, 86 ODIs and 74 T20 matches at the international level so far. He has scored 2851 runs in Tests, 4261 runs in ODIs and 2686 runs in T20s. He has scored 23 centuries and 65 half-centuries in all three formats of the game.
