Hardik Pandya made his IPL debut in the 2015 season for the Mumbai Indians. Since then, he has been part of the team until the 2021 edition. He was released, and the new franchise, the Gujarat Titans, acquired him and made him captain of the team.
Hardik led the franchise to a win in the very first season, and GT won the IPL 2022. On the other hand, GT is also leading the table in the ongoing edition of the league. GT have won seven out of ten games and are one win away from a place in the playoffs.
In a podcast named “Aava De With Hardik Pandya,” of the Gujarat franchise, he was asked about the reasons for success for the two most successful IPL franchises: Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Pandya had a rather unexpected answer.
The GT skipper said, “There are two formulas for winning in cricket. One is to get the best players in auction like MI and other is to take any player In auction and give them a good environment and getting the best out of players like csk team.”
Notably, Hardik was part of four IPL titles with MI. However, his answer didn’t sit well with some MI fans. Notably, both MI and CSK share a rivalry between them in the IPL. MI has won the title five times, while CSK has won it four times. Some MI fans slammed the GT skipper for his reply.
