Faheem Ashraf ruled out of Australia series as Australia recruits Pakistan born Fawad Ahmed as bowling consultant

Excitement is building up as Australia’s tour of Pakistan is set to begin on the 4th of March, however, Pakistan team has suffered a blow before the start of the tournament, as Faheem Ashraf has been ruled out of the Australia series.

Pakistan taking on Australia will be a historic series in its own as it is for the first time after 24 years that Australia is travelling to Pakistan for away series, as most of the times, the series’ that Pakistan hosted, were played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

It was all due to the security reason. But, from the last of couple of months, Pakistan Cricket Board have been trying very hard to return cricket back to Pakistan and have already hosted major series’ in the country.

Australia will be one of those major series when the mighty Kangaroos take on the Pakistani side in Pakistan. However, before that, Pakistan have suffered a blow as Faheem Ashraf has been ruled out of the series due to groin injury.

PCB is yet to make a decision on replacement for Faheem, but likely to be announced very soon as Ashraf is not expected to be fit for the entirety of the Test series.

Australia recruits Fawad Ahmed as bowling consultant for Pakistan series

Meanwhile, Australia’s preparations are in full swing as the team landed in Pakistan earlier. They now have recruited a Pakistan born spin bowler Fawad Ahmed to become the team’s net bowler and also help the team with his advice.

He is currently playing for the Lahore Qalandars in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 as a replacement of Rashid Khan. He is likely to join the Australian camp only after the final tonight.

The Australian team’s tour of Pakistan will commence on the 4th of March with the first Test of the scheduled 3 match series, scheduled to be held in Rawalpindi. The series will also consist of 3 ODI and one T20I.
