The wait for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season to begin is very little now with the first match of the tournament will be played on about a week’s time now on. This is set to be Gala event as teams look to get their hands on the IPL Trophy.
The cricket fans all around the world deeply excited for the Indian Premier League 2023 season. This season, the level of competition is likely to take a stride forward and the teams will have to come up with their best possible strategy and Playing XI if they want to lift the Trophy.
Just like the IPL 2022 season, this season too a total of 10 teams will be taking part in the competition. All 10 teams have been divided in 2 groups and will follow the format that was used last year in IPL 2022 which the Gujarat Titans won in their inaugural campaign.
Meanwhile fans have a huge expectation from the Delhi Capitals. Despite missing the services of their captain Rishabh Pant, who got injured in a car accident last year and will miss the entire IPL 2023. David Warner will lead the team in IPL 2023.
However, the Delhi Capitals’ head coach Ricky Ponting has named the most important player for his team in the IPL 2023. As per the ESPNcricinfo, Ricky Ponting is impressed with their young hard-hitting opening batter Prithvi Shaw.
Ponting said to ESPNcricinfo, “Something has really clicked in Prithvi. He seems to be in a better space than ever before.” He further added, “He’s trained harder and better than I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty sure leading into an IPL, he is in better physical shape than I’ve ever seen him before. And I spoke to him the other day about his attitude and the way that he’s working and how things are going. I honestly feel that this is going to be his biggest season ever in the IPL.”
Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals under the leadership of former Australia and Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner, will kick-start their IPL 2023 campaign on the 1st of April playing away to Lucknow Super Giants. They will play their 1st home match on the 4th of April against the defending champions Gujarat Titans.
