CSK captain MS Dhoni likely to retire after IPL 2023; expected to join Indian T20 team’s coaching setup in undisclosed role

Former Indian team’s captain and currently IPL team CSK’s captain MS Dhoni could be retiring from all forms of the game after IPL 2023 according to various reports.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) is one of the most successful Indian cricket team captain ever who has won almost all there is to win, the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 Cricket World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy.

He announced his retirement from playing for the Indian team in the year 2020 on the Independence Day of the country. His decision was a shocker for the whole country to digest. However, he decided to continue playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team in the IPL.

Before the IPL 2022, he handed over the captaincy of the team to Ravindra Jadeja, making everyone think that he will retire after IPL 2022. However, he was later reinstated as the captain and confirmed that he will play for the team in IPL 2023 as well.

And now, according to a latest report on The Telegraph, MS Dhoni could retire from all forms of the game after IPL 2023 as it is being said that he could become a part of the Indian T20 team’s coaching setup in some capacity after that.

The BCCI is likely to implement a massive overhaul to the T20 team after another year the team failed to lift the World Cup.
