“I think we have seen the last of Kieron Pollard” – Aakash Chopra thinks IPL saw the last of Mumbai all-rounder

Former West Indies captain and dashing all-rounder Kieran Pollard could not perform for Mumbai Indians (MI) according to his stature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, as a result of which his franchise had to struggle, but he also faced severe criticism.

While Mumbai Indians (MI) managed to win only four out of 14 matches in IPL 2022, Kieron Pollard scored only 144 runs in 11 matches, which shows how disappointing this season was for the veteran all-rounder.

Let us tell you that, Mumbai Indians (MI) had retained Kieron Pollard along with Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav before the IPL 2022 mega auction, but he did not live up to the expectations and even was dropped for numerous matches as well.

Giving his opinion on the West Indies legend’s performance, former India batsman and cricket pundit Aakash Chopra said that Kieran Pollard’s stint has probably come to an end in the IPL, and the franchise might show him the way out before the next season.

Talking on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said, “I think we have seen the last of Kieron Pollard. ₹6 crores will be released if they don’t retain him. I think they can let Murugan Ashwin go as well. I am not sure about Jaydev Unadkat but they can definitely say bye-bye to Tymal Mills.”

However, Aakash Chopra heaped praise on young batsman Tilak Verma, who scored consistently for Mumbai Indians (MI) throughout the season, batting in the middle order. Let us tell you, Tilak Verma finished his debut season by scoring 397 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 131.02.
