The mentor of Lucknow Super Giants, Gautam Gambhir, has been fined his entire match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during the team’s match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Gambhir accepted responsibility for the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct. Similarly, Virat Kohli, the batter for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, has also been fined his entire match fee for violating the same code during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the same venue.
Kohli also admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct. Furthermore, Lucknow Super Giants’ Bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has been fined half of his match fees for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
Naveen-ul-Haq acknowledged committing the Level 1 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
It was a low scoring match between the two sides. Thanks to some early contributions from Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) posted 126 runs on the board. Chasing the target, who one played a significant inning for the Lucknow Super Giants as they could only score 108 runs and lost the match.
