The rumoured rivalry between former India captains and also the former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly reignited during the match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023.
Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli are two of the greatest Indian batsman as well greatest captain to ever lead the Indian National cricket team.
However, during the Sourav Ganguly’s stint as the BCCI President, Virat Kohli was going through a huge rough patch that led to him deciding to resign as India’s T20I captain.
After that, the Indian cricket team selection also decided to remove Kohli as ODI captain because they didn’t wanted split captaincy. Kohli later also resigned as the Test captain.
Finally after Kohli was removed or resigned as India captain in all formats, there rumours that both Virat Kohli and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly didn’t had a good relationship. People started to blame the latter for removing Kohli as captain from the Indian team.
Their rivalry once again was in display when Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore took on Sourav Ganguly mentored Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023.
There came a moment during the match when Kohli was fielding nearby Delhi dugout and he took a catch. After that, Kohli gave a stare down towards Delhi dugout, particularly towards Sourav Ganguly. Later after RCB won the match, Kohli didn’t shake his hand with Ganguly. See how Twitterati reacted.
