Virat Kohli, an athlete admired for his elegance, is recognized for his extravagant way of life. With a net worth of over $100 million, he is the world’s third wealthiest cricketer, and his collection of deluxe cars includes models from Audi, BMW, Porsche, and other high-end brands. In a recent interview, the ex-India captain discussed his passion for cars and shared a humorous story about his first car.

According to his conversation with Star Sports, Virat Kohli mentioned that his first car was a Safari, which currently has a price range of Rs 15.65 lakh to Rs 22.71 lakh. He stated that the reason behind his purchase of the car had nothing to do with its features but was entirely unrelated.

In Virat Kohli’s own words during his conversation with Star Sports, he stated that “The first car that I bought with my own money was Safari. At that time, Safari used to be the car upon seeing which people used to clear the road on their own. That was the motivation behind buying the Safari, not how it runs or whether it has enough space or not.”

During an episode of the RCB podcast, Virat Kohli had shared that he had sold off most of his cars after realizing that he had made impulsive purchases and hardly ever used them.

He stated that, “Most of the cars I used to own were impulsive buys, I ended up hardly driving or travelling in them as well. Beyond a point, I was like this is pointless, so I ended up selling most of them and now we only use what we absolutely need to.” This highlights a shift in his mindset towards more conscious and practical consumption.

Virat Kohli is currently playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. On April 15, he is set to compete against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. It is worth noting that RCB has won only one match out of the three they have played in the tournament so far.
