Australian cricket team is at the brink of winning the 3rd Test of the 4 match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 being played in Indore in Madhya Pradesh right now.
It has only been two days of play so far in the competition and we have already had 3 of the innings completed already with still 3 more days of play left to be played.
Batting first, Team India couldn’t survive the Australian spin bowlers’ scare and were all-out for 109 runs only in just after a session of play only. Australia in reply scored 197 runs, taking a lead of 88 runs after the end of the 1st innings’ play.
In the 2nd inning, the story didn’t change at all for the Indian team and they once again lost wickets at quick succession. Cheteshwar Pujara though played a brilliant inning of 59 runs before he was dismissed through a stunning catch on leg-slip by Australia captain Steve Smith.
Other than Pujara, Shreyas Iyer also tried to play quick counter-attacking cricket and once it was a brilliant catch by Usman Khawaja that got the wicket of the Indian middle-order batsman for 26 runs in 27 balls.
After Shreyas Iyer’s attempt at counter-attacking cricket, fans remembered that this was the moment when India needed wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who has been ruled out for months due to the car accident he suffered on the 30th of December.
