Indian middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan is arguably the best middle-order batsman in the Indian domestic scenes right now for long time. But despite his dominance over the last couple of years, he is yet to make his debut.
Sarfaraz Khan has been the topic of discussion among the Indian cricket fans, not just now, for almost 2 or 3 years back. Sarfaraz has a tremendous records in the Indian domestic cricket.
He has achieved all the big milestones in his career while playing for the Mumbai team in the domestic cricket.
Sarfaraz, as of writing this, has a massive average of more than 80 in the domestic multi-day matches. He has so far played 36 first class matches and has scored 3380 runs with an average of 80.5.
Despite his brilliant form and performance, the Indian team selectors have always overlooked him. That has led to many believe that it is because of his body weight.
Recently, former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar said that if the selectors are for slim players only for the Indian team, they must then go for models rather than cricketers. He added that Sarfaraz is ready to play for India. After his statement, Twitter have reacted to the former India captain’s statement.
Sunil Gavaskar said, “Sarfaraz Khan is fit to play cricket. If selectors want slim guys, they should go to a fashion show and select some models. Selection should be based on runs and not size”. (To India Today).
