The new year, 2023 is here and the Indian team plays its first match against Sri Lanka, tomorrow on the 3rd of January, the 1st T20I of the 3 match match. With the T20 World Cup now out of mind, Team India now targets the Cricket World Cup 2023.
Meanwhile, who was a part of India’s 2022 T20 World Cup squad, has given his opinion about the spin department of the team during the tournament, especially comparing Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra.
Karthik said on a show in Cricbuzz that Ashwin started the T20 World Cup well but didn’t end well and Yuzvendra Chahal could have been more effective. However, the fans started mocking him instead, some mentioning that Karthik was saved from embarrassment by Ashwin in the important match against Pakistan as Karthik got out in the last over without contribution and Ashwin won the match for India with finely placed shot.
Dinesh Karthik said, “Ravi Ashwin started T20 World Cup well, but probably didn’t end well. Chahal would’ve definitely made a lot more damage, it could’ve been an interesting choice”. (On Cricbuzz).

Easier to be wise afterwards. Ashwin played as an experienced campaigner more so when Bumrah was absent. Also Chahal tends to be expensive. Importantly dont like him laughing when hit for a boundary. Ask him to stop that habit. Will help him.
