While Sri Lankan leg-spin bowler Wanindu Hasaranga is currently the leading wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup 2022, and is likely to stay there after the final as well, it proves the lethality of a leg-spinner in the tournament.
Team India had the most lethal leg-spin bowler in their disposal, despite that, in the hope of batting depth, the Men in Blue constantly ignored Yuzvendra Chahal for throughout the tournament.
As a result, they suffered a humiliating defeat against England by 10 wicket in the semi-final. In fact, England leg-spinner Adil Rashid was the best bowler for England in that match.
Meanwhile, former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has come out criticising the Indian team management for not giving atleast one opportunity to Yuzvendra Chahal. Fans have agreed to Shane’s statement and feels team India made a big wrong call.

I've been saying that since the beginning, i don't really understand the role of both Ashwin and Axar Patel , team selection has been the worst

The whole world except the team management knew this, all of us were ranting day in day out on why Chahal was not being played. I'd like to know on what basis was Ashwin selected? Which recent performance of his in the ipl or international t20s merited his selection?

Absolutely. I have no idea why they kept playing "smart cricketer" Ashwin. He is the second biggest fraud after KL in T20 cricket. https://t.co/CVBg4exAXk
