3 Pakistani players who have played in IPL but never played in the PSL

The Indian Premier League (IPL) brought in the foundation to make their Indian cricket team even more stronger and when the formula worked, many other nations also followed the same tactic and brought in a a T20 cricket league of their own.

India’s the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Pakistan’s the Pakistan Super League (PSL) are two of the most competitive T20 cricket leagues around the world. Star cricketers from all around the world participates in both the competition.

However, there is some reasons that neither the Indian players play in the Pakistan Super League nor the Pakistani players play in the Indian Premier League. While the BCCI doesn’t allow their players to participate in any other T20 league other than the IPL and domestic cricket, Pakistani players are not allowed to play in IPL because of political reasons between India and Pakistan.

But, in the initial season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Pakistani players were allowed to play in the IPL. However, some of those players who played in IPL during those days, have actually never played in their country’s own T20 league. Younis Khan

Former Pakistan cricket team’s middle-order batsman and captain Younis Khan is one of those player who has played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has never played in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He played for the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2008 but never featured for any team in the PSL.

Mohammad Asif

Mohammad Asif, the former Pakistan cricket team right-arm medium pacer played for the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL 2008 season, but unfortunately for the pacer, he was banned from playing the game due to match-fixing scandal just when the Pakistan Super League came into existence.

Shoaib Akhtar

Another star Pakistani cricketer who played in the IPL is Pakistan’s former speedster known as Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib Akhtar. Akhtar played for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the inaugural season of the IPL, however, the player never played in the Pakistan Super League in his illustrious career.
