Hashim Amla scored 420 runs in IPL 2017, his last season
South African legendary opening batsman Hashim Amla is the first name in our list. Amla, was not so recognised for his performance in the shorter format of the game, but he did quite well for the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab King) in the IPL 2017 season and he scored 420 runs in 10 matches, that also included 2 centuries. However, Amla was not retained by Punjab next season and he never played in the IPL again.
Morne van Wyk
Another former South African cricketer to make it to the list is the former South African wicketkeeper batsman Morne van Wyk, who played for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2009 season. He scored 167 runs in 5 matches but was never retained and never appeared in the IPL again.
Kevon Cooper
The 3rd and the final player in our list today is Trinidad and Tobago cricketer Kevon Cooper. Fans would mostly remember him playing for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Cooper played for the Royals in 3 seasons from 2012 to 2014. In his last season in 2014, Cooper took 4 wickets and scored 39 runs in 5 matches. But he was not retained and never was picked by an IPL franchise again.
